President Responsibilities

  • serve as Chair of the Executive and Personnel Committee

  • serve as an Ex-Officio member of the Lobby Corps Committee

  • serve as a Student Senator on the Academic Senate

  • serve as a member of the Student Union Board of Directors

  • to work with the Vice President and Controller to prepare the budget for the upcoming fiscal year

  • to assist the Vice President with the planning and implementation of the training program for the Board of Directors

  • to attend and actively engage in California State Student Association (CSSA) meetings with the Director of Legislative Affairs

  • to work with the Director of Legislative Afairs to promote the interests of SJSU and its students with local government officials and legislative offices

  • to maintain relationships and communicate effectively with campus partners, administration, alumni, and community leaders to promote the mission of Associated Students

  • to provide a liaison report on the activities of the University President and Vice President for Student Affairs
