Student Assistant Positions

Hourly Student Leader Positions

The positions available for the 2026 - 2027 academic year are the following: Peer Academic Success Coach (PASC), Student Administrative Assistant (SAA), Evening Student Administrative Assistant for Community Desks, Community Desk Assistant (CDA), Evening Community Desk Assistant (ECDA), and International House Office Assistant (IHOA).

Appointees may hold only one (1) student leader position within University Housing Services. If offered more than one student leadership role, the appointee must choose which position they wish to accept.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following GPA requirements at the time of application and throughout their employment:

  • A minimum cumulative and semester 2.5 GPA for all positions
  • A minimum cumulative and semester 3.0 GPA for the Peer Academic Success Coach (PASC) position

Student Leader Info session attendance is required in order to receive the application link. Students who are reapplying for the same position are not required to attend an information session.

Student Leader Application Due: 

StarRez Application Part 1: 2/9/26 @ 9AM PST to 2/20/26 @ 9AM PST

Application Part 2: 2/23/26 @12PM PST to 2/27/26 @ 12PM PST


No exceptions will be made to the application deadlines.


Student Leader Interview Sign-Up:

If selected to continue in the recruitment process, interview sign-ups will take place from March 2 through March 4, 2026. Instructions for signing up will be sent to your SJSU email.


Student Leader Interviews:

All interviews will be conducted in person on the following dates:

PASC: March 9–10

SAA: March 11–12

OA: March 11–12

CDA/ECDA: March 13 and March 16–18


Student Leader Decisions:

PASC: March 12, 2026 by 5 PM

CDA/ECDA/SAA/IHOA: March 26, 2026 by 5 PM
