McNair Research Colloquium

McNair Class ImageUNVS 125M - McNair Research Colloquium is a seminar designed to prepare McNair Scholars for graduate study at the doctoral level. Through lectures, discussions, and workshops, students will develop essential research and academic skills while navigating the graduate school application process.

About the Program

McNair Students:

This course equips students with the tools to conduct independent research, craft compelling research proposals, and effectively present their work at academic conferences. Topics include research methodologies, literature reviews, and writing for publication. Additionally, students will learn how to prepare a strong CV, personal statement, and GRE strategy while gaining insight into graduate school expectations from faculty and guest speakers.

SSS Students:

For questions related to priority registration and attendance, reach out to both Taylor-Dawn and Angelica. You won't be required to do the homework, as your attendance matters. Also, SSS students are free to choose any of three classes throughout the semester to attend.
