Parent & Family Orientation

We welcome parents and family members to participate in Parent and Family Orientation — an optional opportunity to learn more about SJSU and discover how you can support your student’s success. We offer tailored orientation programs for families of both first-year and transfer students.

While at orientation, you will learn and talk about:

Information on class registration and paying bills
SJSU traditions and culture
Academic requirements
Housing & dining options
Health & wellness
University Police
SJSU policies & procedures

If you are a parent, family member, or supporter who would like to attend orientation with your student, please coordinate with them to complete your registration through their Next Steps portal here. Your student will be able to add you as a guest during their orientation sign-up process.
